Squirrel Scouts (Ages 4-6)

Squirrels is the youngest section in the Scouting family, specially designed for children aged 4 to 6 years old

At 1st Sandridge, our Squirrels meet in a group called a Drey. We meet every Wednesday (during term time) between 5pm and 6pm. Squirrels is all about having fun, making new friends, and taking those exciting first steps towards learning skills for life

What do Squirrels do?
Our action-packed, one-hour sessions are tailored to early years development. Every week is a new adventure where our Squirrels get to:

  • 🌲 Explore the outdoors and learn about nature
  • 🎨 Get creative with simple crafts, games, and storytelling
  • 🤝 Build confidence by working together and being kind to others
  • 🏅 Earn badges for their bright red sweatshirts as they try new things

It’s a fantastic way for young children to burn off energy, grow their independence, and prepare for the adventure of starting school!

Uniforms are available at the Scout and Guide Shops which are located behind Alban Manor Nursing Home, off Waverley Road in St Albans.

In addition we do run a 'Pre-Loved' Uniform Shop where you can purchase second hand uniforms too.
